Right place for exploring Yamagata. Stayed here before, liked food and service. Japanese-style room had flat-screen TV, a seating area and a work desk, everything worked for us.

I loved staying at this hotel! The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They even provided shuttle bus facilities to take us to and from the ski slopes, which was very convenient. The onsen and rotenburo were also amazing, and the room was spacious and comfortable. Plus, it was so easy to walk to the convenience store!
No wifi in the rooms, but everything else was great.

My recent stay at Matsukaneya Annex was absolutely fantastic! The room I stayed in had a stunning view of the colorful trees outside, which made my fall color viewing experience even more memorable. The hot springs at the hotel were also incredible, especially the sulfur bath which I personally preferred. The water was the perfect temperature and left my skin feeling amazing. But the highlight of my stay was definitely the food. The dinner and breakfast options were different each day, but equally delicious. The hotel truly offers a first-class experience with their impeccable service. Despite a language barrier, the staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and convenience. I highly recommend Matsukaneya Annex for an unforgettable stay!

During our romantic escape, we enjoyed the beautiful scenery around the hotel and the hot springs were very relaxing. The staff was polite and helpful with our luggage. , the room was well-equipped with a comfortable bed and a TV. The food was delicious and prepared in a traditional style.
The hotel lacks privacy. The walls are thin and we were constantly disturbed by loud noises from the hallway and other rooms.
